SSOE is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer to join our team. You will have the opportunity to participate in the design of state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for the world’s leading high-tech companies. Our Electrical Engineers will be responsible for working with other lead/contributing Electrical Engineers, design teams, and Sr. Project Managers to create and problem-solve exciting and complex designs that incorporate some of the latest design techniques, while ensuring that all specifications are met, and to ensure timely completion of projects.

Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

  • Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard accepted methods.
  • Performs most assignments with instructions as to general results expected, exercises sound judgment to resolve problems, but may receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and solicits the approval of the department manager or project engineer for proposed design solutions.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes ands standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, local codes and client standards).
  • Participate leading medium projects.
  • Develop and/or review drawings and technical documents, including one-line diagrams, power and lighting layouts, cable routing and tray layouts, load lists, technical specificactions and calculation reports.
  • May supervise and/or coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline.
  • Performs design work on CADD.
  • Develops engineering concepts and presentations.
  • Coordinates electrical design with other disciplines: mechanical, structural, process/chemical, architectural, etc. 
  • Keeps current on new design methods and ideas.

Qualifications

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Engineering bachelor´s degree. (Electrical Engineering, electromechanical, mechatronics or related).
  • Six to ten years (6 - 10) years or more as Electrical designer/engineer.
  • Experience with Low and Medium voltage building systems (facilities) such as Manufacturing, automotive, data centers, battery, chemichal plants.
  • Prior experience with equipment selection / bitter sizing and protection / conduit cable trail calculations / line circuit protection / load calculations / line and distribution / flow calculations / lighting controls / low voltage distribution / emergency systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70 code.
  • Technical software experience (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SINCAL).
  • Advanced English.

Desirable Skills: 

  • Prior semiconductor industry, battery manufacturing and EV experience.
  • Prior Revit experience.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Master Pack (MasterSpec).
  • Prior experience with UPS Systems and photovoltaic (is a plus).
