Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods  following the structural design codes to independently produce small-mid size project design and engineering calculation
  • Solid understanding of structure element design codes (e.g., IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, local codes) with ability to explain code to defend design/analysis methodology to external parties. Able to establish structural design criteria and specifications based on code requirements.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and (where applicable) wood structures for industrial and high‑performance facilities.
  • Identify gaps and propose updates or solutions in clients' design or engineering process, design standards, construction specs and other best practices.
  • Attend project meetings to articulate scopes, schedule, design criteria and engineering methods. Meets with clients to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction
  • Receives clear instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and collaborates to derive effective solutions to unusual problems
  • Supervise and lead the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for QA the completed  work.
  • Act as technical leader and mentor for junior employees across multiple projects
  • Develop and review design calculations, analysis models, and drawings for:
    • Building frames and foundations.
    • Equipment foundations, pipe racks, platforms, mezzanines, and support structures.
    • Structural modifications to existing facilities. 
  • Work as part of a multi‑discipline project team (architectural, mechanical, electrical, process, civil, etc.) to coordinate structural requirements and interfaces.
  • Reviews work with supervisors to ensure the application of sound engineering practices and professional judgment.
  • Write portions of specifications and assist in preparing cost estimates.
  • Support critical structural design and concept drafting on Revit and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor´s degree in Civil engineering, with a structural emphasis  master’s degree in structural engineering is a plus.
  • 8 + years of structural engineering experience
  • Experience with previous industrial/manufacturing building project and structural fit out project experience. 
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as RISA, Hilti Profisor similar.
  • Experience with building codes and standards such as: IBC, ASCE 7, ASIC, ACI (and others as applicable).
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with Revit (Structural design) is a strong plus 
  • Advanced English is a must requirement
